I've been having a lot of panic attacks in the past year and it's really debilitating. Even though they're very stifling, I'm trying to learn how to operate normally even though I'm freaking out on the inside. Someday I know this work will pay off but right now I still have a lot of work to do. 

Trying to learn something new is much easier when you're younger because everyone expects you not to know stuff. They're nicer to you because you're newer to the world and how it works. When you're older it's much different and I find that the main thing that's changed is that now I need to learn how to be kinder to myself. I can't get where I want to go by being hard on myself all the time. In fact, that's usually when I get nothing done. It's funny, the main thing I have to learn is not how to be normal but rather how to be nice about being mean to myself. It's complicated but a part of me knows that a lot of people must be dealing with the same thing everyday. How can we be kinder to the unkind parts of ourselves? Who knows? Ask me again in a couple more years. Hopefully I'll have some kind of an answer that sounds good in an Instagram caption.
