Art Description
Everyday I go to the beach and try to feel like I'm there. Sometimes I do but most of the time I don't. My mind sits in this foggy haze almost as if the beach doesn't exist and I'm walking in a dream. A part of me feels like I've waited too long to get here. Another part knows that in a way I've always been here. Waiting for myself to come and enjoy it with me. Deep down I know I'm still waiting for something. Some switch to go off. To feel different. Happier. Rejuvenated. Rectified. I have all that I need. Why can't I feel it yet? Sometimes I do and maybe that's all that matters.

There's a way to explain this practice poetically but I'm not a meditation instructor. I learned this from @jaysheddy. I count five things that I can feel through each of my senses. Listing five things I can see, hear, touch, smell, and taste in that order. You close your eyes after listing the first five. It's both easier and harder than you think but when I open my eyes at the end I do feel a little more present.
