Do Robots Dream of Saving Life?

It's that touch of love we all yearn for. Video game NieR: Automata draws on this subject and was a favorite of my dear friend Evan Pleasic. Both inspired this piece. I think when we see something like a robot or a plant that can't feel those kinds of emotions, it makes us appreciate it more. Here we see two beings, who to our understanding can't experience love, trying to convey it to one another. The robot plays a man-made tune and the flower draws its last breaths, drooping in sorrow. Wouldn't it be wonderful, and a little painful, if the world was this way? We try to see it as such oftentimes to our own detriment. Though in the view of love for the world and life, who cares? I don’t.
